Crispy Garlic Lumpia Chips (Printable)

Thin, crunchy lumpia chips with garlic aroma, ideal for snacking or dipping.

# What You Need:

→ Lumpia Wrapper

01 - 10 lumpia (spring roll) wrappers

→ Garlic & Oil

02 - 3 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
03 - 4 large garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
02 - Stack the lumpia wrappers and cut into thin strips or triangles approximately 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide.
03 - Warm the neutral oil over low heat in a small saucepan. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
04 - Place the sliced wrappers in a large bowl. Drizzle with the garlic-infused oil, then season with sea salt and black pepper. Toss gently to ensure even coating.
05 - Lay the coated wrappers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Fry in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
06 - Cook for 5 to 7 minutes at 350°F, shaking the basket halfway through until the chips turn golden brown and crisp.
07 - Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool. Repeat the frying process with remaining wrappers.
08 - Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley or chives. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They are dangerously addictive in that way where you reach for one and suddenly half the bowl is gone
  • The air fryer makes them light without the heavy grease of deep frying
  • They come together in under 25 minutes with ingredients you probably have
02 -
  • Watch the garlic like a hawk in that oil because burnt garlic turns bitter and ruins the whole batch
  • The chips crisp up even more as they cool so do not worry if they feel slightly soft right out of the air fryer
  • Overcrowding the air fryer is the fastest way to end up with sad soggy strips instead of chips
03 -
  • Let the garlic oil cool for a minute before tossing so it does not make the wrappers soggy
  • A kitchen shears makes faster work of cutting the wrappers than a knife
  • Season immediately after air frying while they are still hot so the salt sticks better
